COMMONLY FORGOTTEN BEACH TRIP ESSENTIALS

Aug 23, 2017

This past weekend, I took a mini vacay with my hubby and in-laws. It was so nice just to get away for a few days, disconnect from the majority of social media, and just be present with family. I know that the Summertime is coming to an end, but just in case you are headed out for one last beach trip before beach season is officially over, I'm sharing a few beach trip essentials that you (and I) commonly forget!

Pin Me For Later!

One // Bug Spray

There is nothing worse than being at the beach and being bit by flies because of a land breeze. Think ahead and bring some bug spray to drive them away just in case the beach is not in your favor that day.

Two // Aloe

My poor husband is super fair skinned and we forgot to bring aloe with us. We were seriously only on the beach for less than two hours with sunscreen and he got brunt. That night, he really needed aloe, so it was an adventure finding a store nearby that had aloe that was actually going to work. Don't forget your aloe, people.

Three // Hair Ties

If you have long hair like I do, it whipping you in the face while you're trying to relax is no bueno. If it's super windy, make sure you have a hair tie (or two) stashed in your beach bag. Throw your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun and enjoy the beach.

Four // Sweater or Sweatshirt

It may be ninety and sunny on the beach during the day, but remember, it's cold in almost every restaurant you will go into, plus it's pretty chilly at night if you choose to walk the beach or the boardwalk.

Five // Tennis Shoes

Speaking of the boardwalk, there are so many fun activities to do on the boardwalk, so make sure you're comfortable. This past weekend, we rented a huge Surrey for us all to take a ride down the boardwalk. Boy, am I glad to have had some tennis shoes for that adventure. Having them handy was also nice when we were walking to and from the beach (we had to walk about 1/2 mile) and for walking the boardwalk at night.

Have you ever forgotten any of these essentials when heading to the beach?! Now you'll be extra prepared on your next beach trip.

Stay Classy.
xx,
Kristen

  2. This is a great list. I never have enough hair ties or clips at the beach. I also leave my hat a lot. I've never thought about taking aloe to the beach though. I always have it back at the house/condo.

  7. I'm hoping to squeeze in one more beach trip before the end of the year, normally on the Gulf Coast it stays pretty comfortable through October, so I'll definitely remember your list when I'm packing :)

  8. Okay, first of all, you look so gorgeous in these photos, girl! Also, that mani is on point.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, haha...

I'm totally guilty of forgetting these things on a vacay, too - especially the bug spray! And you never think you're going to need a sweatshirt if you're heading to the beach, but I never regret bringing one with me, just in case. There's just something about being snuggled up all nice and cozy in your favorite sweatshirt while walking on the beach at night. It's perfect. :) Pinning this for later!

  9. These pictures are SO gorgeous. Especially the one with the sunset. Something I always forget to take is a water bottle and then I get so dehydrated with all the salt water that I inevitably swallow.

    1. Oh that's such a good idea! I LOVE aloe plants. I usually get a leaf at the grocery store for beauty routines, but always forget that I can just use it directly for sunburns, too instead of the gel! haha!
