From Cool to Cozy: The Gold Touch Our Kitchen Needed

Our kitchen has always had beautiful bones; I designed it after all. From the rich dark wood floors, luxurious quartz countertops, crisp white cabinets, and woven blinds that bring in a touch of natural warmth, something about the space still felt a little off.

The sleek silver faucet and black hardware looked sharp, but they gave the room a more modern, industrial edge than we wanted. Honestly, it was pulling a little too much 2017 farmhouse for our taste now. So, we made a simple change: swapping them out for brushed gold. And just like that, the entire atmosphere shifted.

The gold instantly warmed the room, creating a subtle glow against the white cabinetry and playing beautifully with the warm tones in the blinds and flooring. It softened the contrast and brought a sense of elegance and coziness we didn’t realize we were missing.

The best part? That golden finish leans perfectly into the French and European-inspired style we’ve always loved - timeless, romantic, and just a touch luxurious. Now, when we walk into the kitchen, it doesn’t just feel like a place to cook; it feels like a place to linger, sip coffee, and enjoy the beauty in the details.

It’s proof that small changes can make a big impact. You don’t need a full renovation or a huge budget to completely transform the look and feel of a space. Sometimes, it’s as simple as swapping out the little details to create the home you’ve always envisioned.
