WHY IT'S IMPORTANT FOR BLOGGERS TO MEET OTHER BLOGGERS IN REAL LIFE

Aug 29, 2017

Ever since I started blogging full-time from home, I have noticed that I don't have anyone to really hang out with anymore. A lot of my friends have moved away to different states, and others I don't see on a daily basis anymore like I used to. I found myself becoming a hermit, and I was finding it hard to make new friends. That's when my bestie, Summer, from Coffee with Summer, came up with the awesome idea of getting together with other bloggers in our area.

This past weekend, we met up with two other bloggers, Sheila, from In Search of Sheila, and Kait, from Life as Kait, in North Wildwood, NJ, for a mini beach trip. Summer, Sheila, and I all rode together for the 2.5 hour car ride, and Kait met us there since she was coming from a different area. As soon as we all met, I kid you not within thirty minutes, you would have thought we'd all been besties for years.

There's just something special about meeting people that share the same goals and passions that you do. It was an amazing experience and we created never-ending friendships literally overnight. From lounging on the beach to getting messy making my world famous piña coladas, we had more fun than we ever could have thought.

Pin Me For Later!

One // Other bloggers understand you

Other bloggers seriously understand you--sometimes more than your hometown friends. They understand your struggles and they're always there when you need them the most, because they just get you. They are there to celebrate your biggest wins, because they know how much work you've put in to get where you are today.

Two // You make the greatest of friends

Making friends as an adult can be one of the most challenging things. I miss the days when you could say, "Can I color with you?" and then you're best friends. As adults we have to work at it and make time for cultivating meaningful friendships. When you share the same vision and heart for blogging, you are bound to become the greatest of friends.

Three // They've been where you've been

Every blogger experiences the craziness that blogging can bring. Whether you've been blogging for three months or three years, you've been where each other have been or you are striving to grow to be where others are. Genuine bloggers know that we all grow at different rates, and we have all started the blogging journey at different times. It's a blessing to have found bloggers at all different stages that want nothing more than to see each other succeed in all that we do.

Four // You can be creative together

Not everyone shares the same creative passions you do, but when you get four bloggers together, you bet the creative juices were flowing. Though the four of us were pretty disconnected from social media on our mini weekend vacay, we were definitely bouncing different ideas, tips, and tricks back and forth. I know that I learned so many different things just by being surrounded by other creatives.

Five // You form a real community

Community is so very important. The blogging community is full of such amazing people, but sometimes you can get lost in the sea of people. Narrowing down the community to people that you can spend time with in real life is so important for your growth, not only as a blogger, but as a person. I know that we are so excited to plan our next meet-up, and we already have more bloggers excited to join us. If you're in the PA/NJ/NY/MD area, we would love to have you!

Get connected and meet new people. You never know, you might just find a new best friend!

Stay Classy.
xx,
Kristen

  12. I really like this! I've found that my friends don't really get the blogging thing. They think I'm just in a phase and that it'll pass and I'll move on to some other hobby. But that's not how it works! Blogging is a legitimate job!

  20. This sounds like so much fun! I need to do this some time! I feel like there are no bloggers in my area though! That said, I've been to blogging conferences and have met some of the most amazing people there! It's so true, too. You'd think we were friends for years before meeting for a day! Such a magical experience that I wish was more frequent!

  21. I love connecting with other bloggers, either online or in person. Honestly it's fun to just bump into bloggers I know at different events in my city! haha.

I think it's one of those things where, until you're in it, you don't appreciate JUST HOW MUCH WORK IT IS. It's nice to connect with people who get it.
