Loving yourself and embracing self-confidence is so very important. As a blogger, I am constantly taking pictures, and I noticed that at one point I stopped smiling with my teeth, because I didn't like the way they looked. I decided that it was time to invest in a safe whitening toothpaste and learn to love my smile again. Today on the blog, I am sharing a few tips on how to love yourself and a whitening toothpaste that has helped me gain my confidence back.

One // Stop comparing yourself to others

Have you ever heard of the quote: "Comparison is the thief of joy"? Well, it's so true. Comparing yourself to others is only going to make yourself unhappy with the season you are in. Once you start focusing on yourself instead of comparing your smile, makeup, and life itself to others, you will love yourself and your life so much more. Be happy with who you are and know that everyone grows in different ways at different times.

Two // Exercise & eat healthier

I know from personal experience that when I am eating unhealthy foods and I'm not actively exercising, I feel less confident and my body just doesn't feel like my body. Almost a year ago, I became a vegetarian for various reasons, but once I switched my diet, I started to feel so much better. My body started to look more how I wanted and I just felt more confident.

Three // Use a whitening toothpaste

I used to look in the mirror and dread smiling with my teeth. A yellow stained smile isn't the biggest confidence booster by any means, and I knew it was time for a change. I started using Colgate® Optic White® RADIANT™ Toothpaste morning and night as part of my daily beauty routine, and I started to notice a more radiant, white smile. Colgate® Optic White® RADIANT™ Toothpaste safely whitens the insides and the outsides of your teeth using hydrogen peroxide, a dentist recommended ingredient. I love that I have been able to find a whitening toothpaste that helps me feel beautiful both inside and out.

I ended up picking up my Colgate® Optic White® RADIANT™ Toothpaste at ShopRite. I love the beauty section at ShopRite, because the one near me has gorgeous makeup-quality lighting with every beauty product you could ever need.

Four // Read an inspiring book

Taking a little time for yourself and reading an inspiring book can change your whole perspective on yourself and on life. I'm currently reading a few books that talk about loving yourself, loving your journey, and focusing on giving yourself grace, not perfection.

Five // Know that you are beautiful

No matter who you are or where you've been, know that you are beautiful. You were made for a purpose, and you are the only you. I am thankful to have a husband that reminds me every single day that I am beautiful, but if you don't have someone reminding you, especially when you aren't feeling it, I am here to remind you. You are beautiful.

Embrace who you are. Love yourself and always give yourself grace.

Yes to the exercise and eating healthier! Another thing that I have learned is to stop trying to FORCE my body to look like anything other than what it does. So buy clothes that fit me right and embrace the way I am. It has been a life saver for confidence.

Beautiful post! It's so important to learn to embrace our qualities and unique features that sets us apart from others. And that colgate toothpaste is my absolute fave!

Having good teeth is definitely a factor in my confidence! I've been through a lot with mine (hello, 5.5 years of metal retainers and 4 years of braces!), so I always try to keep them as clean as possible! I also like how you highlighted that comparing ourselves to others can do no good! Great post!

This is an area that I really struggle in. I don't give my teeth the love I should. I've *sort of* been trying to improve with it, but I still need to do better.

YES! Oh my goodness--yes! I've had to learn this too and I've learned that it doesn't matter what size is on my jeans label--all that matters is that I find a pair that are flattering on my body.
