WINTER DATE IDEAS

During the winter, it's so hard to get out of the house for a date night, because it's so cold! I'd much rather stay at home snuggled on the couch than braving the arctic weather. As I was thinking of fun date ideas and things I wanted to do with Christopher, I thought of a few things to do out of the house, and then some things to do in when ya just don't feel like leaving the house, but still want to make the night special!

As I was writing today's post, I got a little sentimental & mushy and went back and found some old pictures of Christopher & I from when we first started dating, so of course I have to share them with you! They're a little grainy, because they're forever old and taken on a phone, but they make me smile and I thought it'd be fun to take y'all down memory lane. 💑

Coffee date //

This is from one of our first coffee dates and I still remember taking this picture! For us, coffee dates on the weekends are a must. Whether we grab coffee to go from a local coffee shop and walk around town or we stay at the coffee shop and chat for a bit, it's always a good time. I love coffee dates, because they're inexpensive and it still counts as a date!

Redecorate a room //

If you're anything like me, taking a trip to Home Goods to get a few new decor pieces and then redecorating a room is the best date ever! I live for redecorating a space, so it gives us a chance to get out of the house and work together to make our home even homier. It also helps that we both have very similar decor styles and love all things decor & design.

Play a board game //

There's at least one board game that you love to play that's perfect for two players! We love playing battleship and it brings for entertainment and endless laughs! It's not all that special, but you get a chance to spend time with each other and spend some quality time together.

Hot chocolate & movie //

What's better than getting cozy with hot chocolate and a good movie?! This is something that Chris and I will do a lot during the winter--especially on the weekends when we don't feel like getting out of our comfy jammies. So, grab your favorite movie and make some hot chocolate (spike it if ya'd like) and get to snuggling!

Go ice skating //

I mean, this is just classic for the winter. I feel like you haven't truly lived during the winter unless you go ice skating. Whether you take a trip to central park or just your local town skating rink, get out there and live a little! We were such babies the last time we went ice skating. I think we were dating for maybe 3 months when we went!

Spa night at home //

Having a spa day with your girl friends is always fun, but have you ever had a spa night at home with your dude?! From personal experience, I can tell you that it's the funniest time ever, yet surprisingly relaxing, too! It's funny because have you ever had your dude put on a face mask?! SO funny! Grab a face mask and relax a bit with your dude and then it's time for massages! Take turns and give each other massages! It gives you time to chat, laugh, and relax together.

Cook a new meal together //

So we were totally making brownies here, but this was maybe a month after I moved into my first apartment (the one we're still in now), so of course brownies were necessary!

Instead of spending a ton of money on a fancy meal out, find a recipe on Pinterest that you've never tried before, grab the ingredients, and make it together. I love trying new recipes, and I feel like they just taste so much better when you make it together!

Pin Me For Later!

Even though the winter weather might get ya down and make you want to hibernate indoors, don't let it drag down your love life! There are plenty of things you can do together indoors. Then, when you're feeling adventurous, head out and have a new adventure together.

I loved reading your list! I was just thinking about with Josh that we need a few more date night in our lives that aren't just another dinner and home shopping. I love the idea of playing a board game, and cooking together. I'm trying to get Josh more involved in the kitchen, haha!

I love these date ideas. My husband and I have a local cafe that we love to go have brunch at on the weekends. It's one of our favorite things to do. I think we might go do that for my birthday in a couple weeks, actually. I also love cooking together and having movie date nights at home! We're such homebodies so those are always our favorite date nights.

I love this so much! We already do so many of these dates all throughout the year. We love board games, but I'll have to give him a hint on the spa night lol. Also, I love your pictures in this post! They brought a smile to my face!

We love board games! We have a bunch of two player ones that we break out every once in awhile. And I think it might be rather hilarious to have him do a spa night with me ;)

Aww I love these ideas! You are so right about not wanting to go out during the winter! Even though it is nice to just spend time at home, I think it is important to be intentional about doing things together while you are there. Thanks for the ideas!

So many cute ideas!! We're big on board games lately. We just moved our daughters bedtime up from 8 o'clock to sometime between 6:30 and 7pm and it's been AMAZING for our marriage. It leaves us so much more time for 'us time' at the end of the day. So we find ourselves pouring a glass of wine or opening a beer, turning on some Netflix and playing a game together haha we love it!

This is the cutest thing! You've made me want to do a post like this, I love going on little dates especially when they're spontaneous. My favourite date so far with my boyfriend is when we went on a weekend trip to London, sometimes it's so nice to just get away together for a little bit x
