HOW I'M CELEBRATING MY JOB SEARCH

It's no secret that I've been on the job hunt. I love that I can be open and honest with all of you. You're much more than my readers. You're my friends, blogging family, and my biggest supporters. When I first announced on Instagram that my time as a full-time blogger could be coming to an end as I look for a job, I received so much encouragement, love, and support.

It's not that blogging isn't bringing me joy, because gosh, this has been the most amazing year as a full-time blogger. Together, my husband and I made the decision that it would be best if I got a full-time job and continued blogging as my #girlboss side hustle. We have hopes and dreams of buying a home very, very soon. We're working on killing our student debt, and eventually starting a family. In order for any of those things to happen, I need a job that has a stable income.

I'll be honest, the thought of being a part-time blogger again felt a little like failure, but that is a lie from the enemy. I have grown more as a person in my time as a blogger, and I just know that I will flourish in whatever job I choose to pursue.

I just received the amazing news I've been praying so, so hard for. The job I just accepted gives me so much excitement and joy! It's a little bit of fashion, styling, and get this--even social media! The company is also very familiar with other managers being bloggers as well, so it's nothing new to them, and they are in complete support of me blogging on the side! They were actually amazed at how far my little blog has come--sometimes I can't believe it myself!
Since this whole job search and acceptance adventure is going to be a huge life-change for me, I'm keeping myself pumped up by celebrating along the way! Today, I'm going to share a few of those ways, because I know I'm not the only one on the job hunt & acceptance phase of life!

One // Get a new planner

There is something so amazing about a new planner. Maybe it's because it's clean and nothing has ever been written in it--or maybe it's because it's the true sign of a new beginning. All I know, is I'll be headed out to get a new planner ASAP!

Two // Indulge in a sweet treat

I'm all about sweet treats--especially in the summertime. If you just mention ice cream, I am so there! I'm not sure if y'all know this about me, but I am lactose intolerant. Finding a sweet treat is sometimes hard to do, but Häagen Dazs® has come to the rescue! They've come out with delicious non-dairy options. Instead of simply substituting soy, almond, or cashew milk, every flavor of the Häagen Dazs Non-Dairy collection begins with a core ingredient like real pieces of Belgian chocolate, actual peanut butter, or real coconut cream. These flavors are so creamy and give an authentic taste.

No lie, these have quickly become my favorite ice cream ever! The Häagen Dazs Chocolate Salted Fudge Truffle Non-Dairy flavor is by far my favorite. There are huge pieces of Belgian chocolate and the ice cream itself is so creamy. Chris was obsessing over Häagen Dazs Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge Non-Dairy where real peanut butter ripples through the ice cream. It's so nice to be able to indulge in delicious flavors without the dairy. Häagen Dazs is all about helping us find those real-life moments to celebrate & reward ourselves--we work hard & we deserve to make life extraordinary!

Three // Buy a new outfit

The other day, I went shopping for a few new work items. I wish I had thought to grab a new outfit for my interviews--I definitely recommend it! There's nothing more empowering than a new outfit that you feel confident in. Always remember--dress to impress.

Four // Get a haircut

I have been wanting to get a haircut for months, but for some reason, I just keep pushing it off. Either I don't want to spend the money or I don't have the time. So, I called on a whim and scheduled a haircut for that very day, and it was the best decision I've ever made! A haircut is the perfect way to celebrate a life-change. Whenever I think about getting a haircut, I always think of the quote: "A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life." Coco Chanel

Five // Head to dinner

Once you've officially accepted a job and you get your first paycheck, take yourself out to dinner! It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but just go out and celebrate. Food is my love language, so wherever Chris & I decide to go, it will be heavenly.

If you're on the job hunt, I wish you the best of luck! I'm so thrilled to be starting this next adventure in life! A Classy Fashionista is not going anywhere. I'll just have two titles: Blogger and Manager!

How are you going to celebrate your job search?!

  1. Congratulations on your new job! It sounds like it will be interesting and the stability will give you a lot of peace of mind. I need to get some of that ice cream! My sister is a vegan and my son is lactose free, so I'm always on the lookout for good desserts that we can all enjoy.
