LIFE UPDATE: WE'RE BUILDING A HOUSE!

I still can't believe the words I'm typing! We are building a house!!! 🙌 Some days it still doesn't feel like real life, but our hard work has finally paid off, because we are about five months away from moving into our brand new home. If you follow me on Instagram, you were the first to know this crazy awesome news. As things progress and there's more than level dirt, I'll take you on mini home tours. Be sure to follow me on IG for the insider scoop on our house building process aka house to Jonestead.

We were super fortunate to have come across our development when we did, because we were able to customize our dream home! It's a three story, three bedroom, two and a half bath home with a finished basement aka Chris's space that he gets to customize. You already know I've taken over the decor plans for the rest of the house. haha!

The most fun part for me so far was going to the design center. I was able to go preview it to see all of our options and create a wish list of everything I wanted in the house. Everything from the kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring, doors, door handles, and more we got to hand-pick from a huge design center. Just imagine gorgeous white farmhouse kitchen with super tall cabinets, stainless steel appliances, a huge kitchen sink, massive island, and espresso colored hardwoods. Did you think of something you saw on Pinterest?...because eep! That's going to be our house!!

If you remember back to our apartment days, we decorated our apartment to be a modern farmhouse style...well we tried at least. There's only so much you can do in an apartment. haha! With our new home, we were able to pick each and every feature in our home so that it would be the perfect mix of our styles. We will still have a few things we will want to change/add, but it will pretty much be just how we want it when we move in.

There are a few things I want to switch when we first move in aka on settlement day like the chandelier in the dining room, we have to add in our pendant lights above the island in the kitchen, and then add our light fixtures in the bedrooms. Other than that, everything else will be mostly decor. We're going to get a new sectional, new bed frame, and a few new homey touches like rugs and a new coffee table to really pull our space together.

I can't wait to show you guys all of the decor plans and how everything comes together. I don't know how many times I've drawn things out on our floor plan, we've spent countless hours on Pinterest, and the fun has just begun. One of my favorite bloggers shows each phase of her house being built on her IG stories, so I'll try to do that for y'all, because I think it's the coolest thing ever.

Once we're all settled in our home, I'll have so much home decor content I won't know what to do with myself! I'm going to head back to Pinterest now and obsess over every little piece of decor I want to order. It's the littlest things that keep me going. ;)

I hope y'all have an amazing rest of your week!
