Hi, my name is Kristen & I am obsessed with fall. I know it's like 90 degrees outside, but I'm going to continue to pretend like it's 65 degrees out with a cool, crisp breeze, the leaves are starting to change colors, and I've got a PSL in hand. I am the definition of #basic and I have no shame.
The fall holds such a special place in my heart--mainly because I don't melt as soon as I walk out the door. This year is also going to be an amazing fall. We move into our house sometime at the beginning of September (we still don't have a settlement date...grr), my birthday is in October, then it's Halloween, Chris's birthday, and then boom it's time for Christmas!!
When the weather starts to get cooler, I find that I'm more creative with my style, too! There's more opportunity for layers, hats, booties, scarves, did I mention layers?! I love, love cozy sweaters, especially turtlenecks, and I love vests, cardigans, utility jackets, and basically everything about fall fashion.
Since we're still in that transition period for the next month or so, I wanted to start bringing some transition outfits to the blog! For today's outfit, it can be styled to wear during the summer and then layered to be the perfect fall outfit.
First things first, I have to talk about my new High Waisted Denim! I got them from LOFT, and they are the softest, most stretchy denim you will ever wear in your entire life! They fit me TTS, and I am wearing a size 0P/25P. They are also part of their new sustainable line, so they are made with partially recycled materials!
My Green Tie Utility Top is also from LOFT, and it is fall green as I like to call it. It's that utility jacket green but in a top version! It's a tie top, but you can wear it regularly because the buttons go all the way down the shirt! It is super soft and is extremely easy to steam to get rid of any wrinkles!
You've seen my Lou & Grey Cardigan on the blog before, and that's because it's a great, light-weight sweater for these transition months! My store is so cold all the time, so I always dress in layers, and it fits right back into my handbag when I get too hot.
I added my favorite straw hat that I got at Target. It's under $15. It is a little wide-brimmed, but I love it! I also linked my arm candy and accessories below.
When you're putting together summer to fall transition outfits, think light layers. As the temperature starts to drop, I'll start wearing my booties, but until then, I'll keep wearing my open-toed shoes and flats!
What are some of your favorite summer to fall style staples?!
