STYLING A FAUX SUEDE SKIRT FOR FALL

Sep 3, 2019

I have always wanted a faux suede skirt, and I finally got one! It's such a great fall staple that can be worn throughout the season. You can wear it with a graphic tee or dress it up with a button-down, or even a cozy sweater! I will definitely be wearing it each of these ways, and then eventually adding tights as the temperatures drop a little lower.

For today's post, I decided to style it with a button-down since it's been in the seventies lately. I can't wait to wear it with a chunky knit sweater, but until then, a button-down will do.

I seriously just love how it's starting to feel like fall. I know I say this in pretty much every fall post, but there's just something about the fall that makes me happy. It also could be the fact that we go to settlement in less than three, yes, three weeks!! I'm not counting down the days and seconds or anything. ;) All I know is September is my favorite month, it's the start of fall, we're moving into our new home, and it's the start of a new and long-awaited adventure.

Okay, enough about fall, let's chat about this darling skirt! It's faux suede, and it's so soft and I love that it's lined. I would say that it runs TTS, however, if you want to wear it more high-waisted, size down. I am wearing a 0, and wish I had gotten it in a 00, but I figured having the extra room won't be a bad thing when I style it with sweaters later in the season.

My top is identical to the new Striped Tunic Top from LOFT. I got mine from J.Crew a few years ago, and I couldn't find it online anymore. I love that you can wear it like a tie top or wear it with leggings. It's a great transitional piece because it still looks like summertime, but pairs well with fall basics.

Personally, I loved styling this sweater with my studded sandals, but once those temperatures drop, I'll be adding thin tights and booties! Black tights and booties or even knee-high black boots will be adorable with this skirt.
