DASHING DIVA GLOSS SALON-LIKE NAIL STRIPS || HOW TO APPLY

Oct 12, 2020

If you're anything like me, nail polish simply doesn't last more than a day, and trips to the salon were starting to add up to more than I wanted to actually spend. $40+ or more for each visit every two weeks was getting really old, and now with everything that's going on in the world, it's even harder to get to the nail salon, let alone feel safe while there. I was determined to find a budget-friendly option, and ladies, I have hit the jackpot!

I recently discovered Dashing Diva Gloss Nail Strips at Ulta (affiliate), and I'm obsessed. One of my co-workers has been wearing nail strips for months, and I was finally influenced to try them out for myself, and I'm so glad that I did! Not to be dramatic, but they have been life-changing.

Inside each kit, you'll have the nail strips that include darling accent nails, an instruction sheet, and a nail file that you will use during application.

To prep your nail, simply put a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton round and cleanse your nail bed. This will allow the nail trip to stick so much better since you are removing any oils from lotions, soap, etc.

Next, the hardest part is figuring out what pattern you want to create on your nails! I am so indecisive, so I will spend a few minutes planning out which pattern will go on each nail so that I'm perfectly happy with the end result.

Once you've chosen your design pattern, it's time to start applying! Choose the sticker that best fits your nail, stick it as far back on your nail bed, and firmly press it into place. I find that sometimes it works best to gently stretch the nail strip around your nail so that your entire nail is covered.

Once you are happy with the position of your nail strip, bend it over the top of your nail, and begin filling it with the white side first. This is the rough edge to cut through the strip. It works best if you file in one direction. I will file the center of my nail and then each side after that. Once the excess has been removed, use the pink side to smooth out the edges!

Repeat those simple steps on all of your nails, and in 15 minutes or less, you will have a gel-like manicure that will last up to two weeks--sometimes more!!

To remove these strips, I put a little acetone on a cotton round and rub each nail. The strips come right off and don't damage your nail at all!

I have had three sets so far, and I'm about to use my fourth. I love, love the way they look, and they honestly last two weeks or more. Definitely check them out here (affiliate) and try them for yourselves! If you've tried them before, let me know your experience in the comments below.

P.S. The first time I used them, it was user error, and I didn't take the time to file them correctly, so it left the edges a little rough. Take your time during your first application, and you are sure to love them!
