I am obsessed with all things Christmas, and this year will be even more magical! I couldn't wait to get started with decorating this year, I barely made it through the first week of November before I broke out the decorations. I have a good excuse though this year--everything had to be set up and ready before baby boy is here. He's going to love looking at the tree lights!
We aren't traveling this Christmas since baby boy will be barely a few weeks old, (also we're mid pandemic...) so we wanted to make sure our home felt extra Christmasy and festive for us and the four people allowed into our home when he's born--hello parents and in-laws!
Christmas really is my favorite holiday, and I'm super excited that baby boy will be here to experience it. It makes the craziness of 2020 that much better because we get to end it by celebrating the birth of our son, and also the true meaning of Christmas, too!
This year, since we were prepping for a new baby, we didn't want to spend a ton on new Christmas decor like we did last year, so I got a few things from Wayfair to add finishing touches to what we already did have!
The darling red bow on top of the Christmas tree is from Wayfair and it is the perfect tree topper! I haven't found a traditional tree topper that I'm in love with yet, so I thought I'd try out a simple Christmas red bow, and I love, love the way it turned out.
The buffalo plaid ribbon that's wrapped around the tree, tied on top of the stair banister, and at the top of the outdoor trees was super affordable for the amount of ribbon! I still have tons left, and it wrapped around a 7.5-foot tree and is in several other spots, too. It also has wired edges, which make it so much easier to shape and place around the tree & make perfect, crisp bows.
The stacked Christmas books in the built-ins are from Wayfair, and I love how it adds a simple touch of farmhouse to the shelf. Every shelf needs some Christmas accent decor, and Wayfair has so many cute options! It was so hard to only pick one thing.
On the couch, I brought out my buffalo plaid pillows (that actually came with the couch!), and I added a new Merry Christmas accent pillow. On the chair behind the couch, I put a plaid blanket and Christmasy accent pillow to make the baby changing area + feeding chair a little more festive! Definitely check out all of the accent pillows and throw blanket options available still.
On the stairwell, I used a gorgeous mixed garland. I hate the really rough and pokey garland, so I was really happy to have found a soft plastic garland to wrap around the small living room banister.
I can't wait to show baby boy around his home and watch as he stares at the Christmas tree lights. You already know he'll have tons of photos taken in front of the tree this year, and that to me is the most magical part of all.
Merry Christmas & happy decorating!
Love your tree! We have very similar home decor styles.
