Happy fall, y'all! It's my favorite (okay, second favorite) time of year, and I am so, so happy that fall is finally here! It's been a busy summer. Life with an infant, I was promoted to store manager in a higher-volume location, and life is just crazy. Good, but crazy.
I want to get back in the swing of things and share my home projects and outfits, but I have to remind myself that I can't do it all, no matter how badly I wish I could and desperately want to. I'm hoping in the next couple of months I'll settle into my new role at work and things will slow down, but then again, we're coming up on holiday time, and let's be honest, life never slows down. I think we all go through the motions week after week thinking that things are going to slow down after this week...or in two weeks from now. We all know that it never actually does slow down.
As my life has gotten busier and I've had more responsibilities added to my plate, I've come to the realization that there comes a point where things need to take a step back, and the things that truly matter need to take priority. Family and yes, work has to take priority over things right now.
As much as I wish that work didn't have to take up so much of my time, I remind myself almost daily that I'm doing it to better my family and my son's life. Everything I do is for him at this point. Every sixty-five-hour workweek is to provide a roof over his head, food in his belly, and a life that I'm proud to provide him. I know that the crazy work schedule is only temporary so I'm okay with it. This just means that when I am home, I prioritize family and I try not to busy myself with my usual craziness of projects...but let's be real...I still need them to keep myself sane.
I'm already dreaming up my next long weekend project. Hint: It has to do with our master bath! It's the little projects that keep me going. Until then, hang in there with me and join me on Instagram!
