Hello, summertime, and hello to a new beauty routine. Whenever the seasons change, I love updating what I'm using, especially in summertime. I want a lightweight, glowy makeup routine that's quick! But the most important part--a routine that will last through the summer heat, sweat, and outdoor playtime.
I've been testing these products and this routine for the last month, and they have held up so well to the summer heat, so I had to share it with you.
First up, my summertime BB cream from Tarte! I've used this BB Cream on and off for years and it never disappoints. It's a blurring matte tinted moisturized with 30SPF. It doesn't crease with the summer heat, it instantly blurs my pores and helps control any oils throughout the day. It truly lasts all day, and it's enough coverage alone, but you can layer a foundation on top if you find you need more coverage.
The Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer is to die for. I had never used it before, and let me tell you. I am obsessed. It's so silky smooth and lasts all day! It gives the perfect amount of summer glow, and of course, I need a little added glow, so I follow it up with a tried and true bareMinerals highlighter on my cheekbones and nose.
For a few months, I found myself not putting on eyeshadow because I hadn't found a new palette that I was in love with...until now! The Tarte Fresh Picked Palette has three matte and three shimmer shadows so you can create the perfect matte or bronzy and glowy look. I love the bronzy tones for a neutral look and I love adding the pop of pink for a summertime glow!
For brows, I've been using the NYX Micro Pencil for years. It's budget-friendly and the micro tip allows me to lightly fill in where needed. My eyeliner is budget-friendly, too! I find the elf eyeliners work wonderfully, so why spend the money on a prestige one when the inexpensive one works just the same!
Pixi Beauty sent me a few of their new releases, and I am obsessed with the Glowy Lip Oil. I'll put it on while I'm applying my makeup to get a moisturized base and then follow it up with a little color with Tarte's juicy lip balm. It gives a gorgeous glow with subtle color.
I was talking to my mom the other day and I was raving about my new eyelash curler. Why was I not using one sooner?! The dramatic difference is insane. After curling my lashes for a few seconds, I use the Tartlette Tubing Mascara. It's the first mascara I've found that truly lasts all day, doesn't flake, is smudge-proof, and it's sweatproof! In the past, I used other tubing mascaras that were so hard to remove. This one comes off so easily with a makeup wipe!
Last up in my routine is the Vegamour Dry Shampoo because who has time to wash their hair every day?! Definitely not this mama, so I love, love using a dry shampoo. I've been testing the entire Vegamour hairline for the past several weeks, and I am in love, truly! I love that it makes my hair feel cleaner on those non-wash days and it makes my hair appear fuller and thicker, which postpartum that's the dream!
