HOME TOUR // MASTER BEDROOM

Jun 5, 2017

If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I love home decor. If I could redecorate every month, I totally would. There's just something about making a home look new and fresh. I haven't done an updated home tour in a really long time. I think it's been since I redid my office, which is now a spare bedroom/office, and even then, you didn't get to see the rest of my nest!

After getting married, I wanted to get rid of all of the pink and bright colors so that Chris felt a little more "at home" in his new home. My apartment basically looked like Lilly Pulitzer threw up everywhere. haha! Once we decided on a theme, we made the decision to get rid of anything and everything that didn't fit the overall look that we were going for.
We ended up choosing a glam farmhouse theme. It has the perfect amount of gold and girly accents that pair perfectly with his wood and industrial taste. Our goal is pretty much Fixer Upper style with a little extra glam thrown in. I like to be a little extra, in case you didn't know. ; )

So, without further ado, our Master Bedroom!

As you scroll through the pics, try and find Lilly. She's in almost every single one because she wouldn't stop posing! She's such a nut.

I love our bedding. For the first time ever, I decided that a quilt would be something I would purchase. Never in a million years did I think that I would be buying a quilt, but I am so glad I did. The white shams came with the quilt in a set, and I picked up the accent blanket in the clearance section at Marshalls. Score! The checkered pillows are from the dollar section at Target and fit perfectly with our theme. Yay for bargains!

I absolutely love our XO prints. Chris designed them (it's amazing having a graphic designer hubby) and then we had them printed from VistaPrint. They always have tons and tons of promo codes, so they were super inexpensive. The frames are from Michaels, and you bet we used coupons there, too!

My Mom and I picked this dresser up at a thrift store down the street from their house. It is so gorgeous and it was less than $40! I scored these lamps for $25 each at Home Goods a few years ago when I first got my apartment and made the executive decision that they were staying. I just love them! They're totally my glam accent.

When Lilly isn't snuggled on the bed, you can find her curled up in a ball right here on the fur ottoman. Fun fact: It's actually a bright pink tufted ottoman that I covered with a faux fur rug from Marshalls. All I did was wrap it around and secure it with safety pins. Super easy DIY.

This dresser was my Mom's when she was a kid and she passed it on to me. I love the scalloped detail and you bet I'll be passing it on to my little girl when that day comes. When I moved a few years ago, I gave it a fresh coat of paint to make it bright white again. It's the home to my jewelry and our watch addictions. We really like watches.

This is my heavenly corner. My vanity is my sacred space. It's not my dream space just yet, but it's getting there. I love having a space all to my own for my makeup addiction.

I love our mini gallery wall. We got all of our wedding pictures printed from Shutterfly (SO many promo codes you guys!) and created two gallery walls. One in our bedroom and another in the dining room. I can't wait to show you that one! It's probably my favorite room in the house now.

This is Chris's corner...that I kinda took some space in, too. Oops. My wedding shoes and sweaters are just so pretty up there. At least I only took two shelves. This was one of his DIY projects. It was a pine shelf from Ikea that he stained to give it the perfect farmhouse feel!

There ya have it! Our Master Bedroom. You know it's going to change in like a week, but I figured while we just finished updating it, (and while it's actually clean), that I would give you a tour.

Below, I'll link all of the items from our bedroom remodel!

Stay Classy.

    1. Thank you!! I gotta give Chris all the credit for that DIY project--it was at his parent's house, and then when he moved all of his stuff in, I was like we NEED this shelf in the bedroom. It's so perfect for sweaters & shoes!

  6. Thanks for sharing! I'm super nosy and love seeing people's homes :) and your master bedroom is super cute. We have yet to do any real decorating in our home. We move a lot so we're waiting until next summer when we buy a house and officially settle down.

  10. I love that your cat is in so many of these photo's!!
I'm so nervous about having to move in with my boyfriend and have to overhaul my decor, haha. I have a lot of flowery things in my decor and like you, I want to be sure it feel more like home for my significant other. I'm definitely going to use this post for motivation when I need to redecorate.

    1. Isn't she the cutest?! Haha! I'm kind of obsessed with my cat. But, I got lucky cause my hubby and I have the same overall decor style. (When I'm not decorating for my bachelorette pad haha) We both love the farmhouse look. It's definitely a little crazy at first and it stinks to get rid of stuff that won't fit in that theme anymore, but we sold it and made a little extra $$ to buy new items! If you're nervous about the decor, definitely talk about a theme and items you may like beforehand. It definitely helps!

  11. The style that you chose for this bedroom is perfect. The pillow cases fitted well with the curtains, which made the room look more stunning. And yes, the cat is pretty as well.
