Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and you're ready to kick some booty this week. One of the hardest things about going back to work after a long holiday weekend is making it through the entire first day, without feeling sluggish by the afternoon. Today, I'm going to share a few ways that can help you beat the afternoon slump.

Pin Me For Later!

Take a Walk //

Sometimes, you just need to get up from your chair, walk around a bit, and clear your mind. It can be as easy as walking down the hall of your office building or if you're like me and work from home, I like to walk and grab the mail. It's refreshing and you get out of work mode for just a second.

Re-Energize with a Cup of Coffee //

We all need a little extra pep in our step once we get to the afternoon of our work day, or any day! What better way to re-energize than with a delicious cup of coffee. Now, I'm not sure if you have discovered these or not, but Gold Peak® Coffee has come out with some new flavors, and they are to die for.

Gold Peak® Coffee is made with 100% Arabica beans, real cream, and real sugar. You can choose from two delicious flavors: Gold Peak® Salted Caramel Coffee Drink and Gold Peak® Almond Toffee Coffee Drink. Don't they sound simply perfect as Fall is right around the corner? I know I will be indulging in my Gold Peak® Salted Caramel quite often. If you're more of a tea person, you can also choose from two delish tea flavors: Gold Peak® Chai Tea Latte and Gold Peak® Vanilla Chai Tea Latte made with real sugar and real tea. Plus, a huge added bonus is I don't have to stop my work day to go grab a cup of coffee (or tea!) at a local coffee shop, there's one (or two!) always waiting for me in my fridge!

Just a tip: check for them in the mini fridges by the register! That's where I found mine.

Write a to-do List //

To-do lists are one of my favorite things in the entire world. I am always creating some sort of list, whether it be things I need to get done, to remember, or things to keep in mind for a later date. To-do lists are there for you when you need to jot down all of the random information in your head and keep it organized. It also makes any tasks you have left for the day, week, or month a little more manageable, because you can make a plan on how you are going to accomplish them all.

Listen to Music //

When I started working from home, I thought that I would always have a tv show playing in the background, but I found that it's just a little too distracting. What I do love is a good pick-me-up afternoon playlist. It can be pumpin' up tunes or smooth jazz; whatever suits your fancy. Just play something to celebrate the fact that you've made it halfway through your workday!

Have a healthy snack //

When choosing a snack, don't just make it any snack. Make sure the snacks that you are choosing to eat are healthy options that aren't going to slow you down for the rest of the day. I like snacking on fruit, cheese and crackers, or almonds. They're all perfect options that are healthy and yummy!

What are some of your favorite ways to beat the afternoon slump?

Stay Classy.
xx,
Kristen

  4. These are all great tips for fighting that afternoon slump. I'm a huge fan of coffee, of course but I really love the idea of taking a short walk. I also like to take 5 minute dance breaks or do a quick yoga routine.

I can't wait to try the Gold Peak coffees. The Almond Toffee sounds especially delicious.

  5. Coffee and list making are definitely my top 2 responses when I hit the afternoon slump! Sometimes writing down even the simplest of tasks and just being able to cross them off when I'm feeling tired is just what I need to remotivate me for the afternoon. Thanks for the tips and definitely need to try out that coffee ;)
