OIL CHANGE PREPPING LIKE A #GIRLBOSS

For me, there is nothing more daunting than all things car care. Usually, my car only gets vacuumed when the nice guys at the car shop take pity on my poor car and vacuum it for me. My Dad usually handled the tire rotations and oil changes when I would go home to visit on a weekend. But now that I'm married, I have to adult and do these things on my own. I'm not going to lie though, whenever I have a car problem, I don't call my husband, I call my Dad.

The other day I noticed that my car is due for an oil change, so I called my Dad up to verify that I was going to be ordering the correct items that I needed for a successful oil change. When it comes to choosing a brand of dependable oil, my Dad knows best. He's been using Pennzoil for over forty years, so I know that when I chose to use it too I won't be let down.

Once I got off the phone with my Dad, I hopped on Walmart.com to find the right Pennzoil product for my car. If you're not sure of what oil you will need, check in your car's owner's manual for the correct oil your car requires. If you are going to be DIYing your oil change, be sure to grab an oil filter, too!

I ended up choosing the Pennzoil Motor Oil, which is fortified with Active Cleansing Agents™ to continuously prevent dirt and contaminants from turning into performance-robbing deposits. This helps keep my engine clean and responsive allowing me to drive an extra 550 miles per year vs. a dirty engine. All Pennzoil products help clean out sludge lesser oils leave behind, and keeps on cleaning until my next oil change.

Ordering my Pennzoil Motor Oil online from Walmart was so easy and convenient. Walmart has been hard at work making significant improvements to their online shopping experience. Walmart is now offering three convenient pickup options, including (1) delivery (this is what I chose!) (2) in-store pickup and (3) curbside pickup. Walmart is all about providing convenience for me and for you!

Something that I learned while online shopping with Walmart is that they offer free shipping on orders over $35! When I realized that my Pennzoil order was right at the cusp of free shipping, I decided to add a pack of toilet paper, which I needed anyways, to get free shipping. Walmart.com truly is a one stop shop for many day to day needs. Not only did I avoid the hassle of a twenty-five minute drive to Walmart, my items shipped the next day, and arrived just two days later right outside of my front door. Convenience is key, especially for a #girlboss like me.

Now that all of my oil changing supplies have been ordered and delivered, I can bring them with me to my Father-in-Law's shop where he has a car lift. My husband and FIL usually help me with the actual oil changing process since my parents live three hours away, but at least now I can order all of the supplies ahead of time like a #girlboss.

If you need a step by step oil changing guide, check out this guide I found on Pennzoil's website.

  3. I always go to my dad too for big car problems, but have slowly been transitioning to my husband helping me. We just bought some oil for my car and I'd love to try to change it myself this time!
