5 THINGS TO DO BEFORE BEDTIME



I am one of those people that have the hardest time falling asleep at night. My mind will go a mile a minute and I can lay there for hours. The past few months have been extra stressful with work and just life in general has put me through a tough season. It's holiday at work aka organized (sometimes) chaos. Our hours are crazy and are always changing day to day. I could be working until after 11pm and have to be back to work by 7am. Getting my body to calm down after the madness of a retail workday was so difficult until I discovered my perfect routine and maybe it can work for you as well!


ONE
WASH YOUR FACE


I don't know how many clients come into my store and say they don't wash their face at night. Not only is it horrible for your skin, but how can you sleep with mascara and foundation on your face? When I was little, one of my sister-in-laws would always tell me, "For every time you leave your makeup on overnight, you add an extra seven days to your skin." That terrified me for life. Obvi. If you don't wear makeup, or you're a dude reading this (thanks for reading, babe!) it's still super important to get off the dirt and oils from the day. These gummies are amazing! I have taken them religiously for the past two months, and I have never slept so good in my life. It has I-Theanine, which is an amino acid that helps to reduce stress and help with anxiety. It calms and helps you quiet your mind. Melatonin is another main ingredient and it helps naturally regulate your sleep cycle. About thirty minutes after I take my gummies, I am sound asleep. Fluff your pillow, grab a fuzzy blanket, and snuggle a love bug--human or one with paws! I have a super soft fur blanket that I cannot sleep without, plus, Lilly likes to snuggle up to it, too! In the winter time, I don't really turn my heat on until it's literally freezing in my apartment. So, I need tons of blankets to keep me warm. If you know me well, you know that I hate the cold, and if I'm not warm, I can't sleep. Get cozy, and get sleepy!

PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN


It's always so tempting to scroll through Facebook and Instagram at night to calm your mind, but it keeps your brain too active with the lights! If you must, read a book, write in a journal, something, anything, but your phone.

FIVE
TURN THE LIGHTS OFF

After I get in bed, the lights are off. I have a very dim nightlight in my bedroom that I have on because of my kitten, Lilly. I like to know where she is at all times. I don't want to squish my little love bug! But, the dimmer the room, the faster you can fall asleep.
