With the holiday season in full swing, our homes feel extra festive strung head to toe in lights and every open space decked in holiday decorations. When the season ends, it can be a little sad seeing all the decorations go! However, it’s easy to transition from over-the-top holiday decor to a more understated look that will carry your space through the winter. Think cozy textures, lush greenery, and warm colors to evoke the perfect vibes for hot cocoa by the fire after a day playing out in the snow. Check out my latest interview with Wayfair to see how I transition from holiday to winter decor!

WINTER DECOR TRANSITION: Q&A with Kristen of A Classy Fashionista

Wayfair: How do you incorporate winter decor into your space without it feeling too “holiday”?

Kristen: As I'm starting to transition from my Christmas decor to my winter decor, I love to accent with blush pinks, light, wintry blues, and cozy creams. I love chunky knit blankets, cable knit sweater pillow covers, and natural wood elements like wicker baskets.

Wayfair: Are there any pieces you reuse from your holiday decor collection?

Kristen: If you saw my Cozy Fireplace & Family Room post or my Cozy Guest Bedroom post, then you saw the most darling cable knit sweater pillow covers and my new cable knit blanket from Wayfair. These pieces will definitely be used until it gets warmer outside! Pro Tip: Use pillow covers so you can reuse the pillow inserts year-round! It makes for way less to store away after each season.

Wayfair: What inspires your winter decor? i.e. a cozy log cabin decked in plaid, or maybe an icy blue winter wonderland?

Kristen: Once the holiday festivities have come to an end, my mind goes straight to a cozy-inspired Valentine's Day. The blush pink hues mixed with the chunky knits create a romantic coziness that I look forward to every year. It's my way of winding down after the holiday craziness and simply enjoying the moments of the new year.
